Went to the pool with my work out buddy to try swimming, said our goal was 30 laps. Only he was thinking laps, and i was thinking lengths…eep! I managed 25 laps (50 lengths), which was almost double what i thought i would be able to do. I am super pleased with myself, and totally exhausted! (but in a good way). Will definitely be making this part of my weekly routine.

Friday was a good start to a new month: ate all my meals at home, lifted at the gym, and went to see an (admittedly bad) show at 7 Stages with Leslie. I’m really surprised how little I’m eating and still staying satisfied. Not every day’s like this, of course, but yesterday certainly was. I had enough leftover calories to have some of Leslie’s amaretto cheesecake and still come in around 300 under my goal! It really is a shame the veggie burgers I made don’t taste that good, because they’re nicely filling and have so few calories to them. It’s probably worth searching out other recipes or trying to tweak the one I have.

Hmmm…my game day isn’t showing up. How else can I whine that the no caffeine after 12 p.m. rule is already sucking huge and I only follow it 3 days a week.

Well…I have a lot of rules I haven’t started yet, but wow…there are a lot of rules…I think I can do them, I really need to do them, but I hope I didn’t get overly ambitious.
PoconoPete has a tip for the Eat fewer calories rule.
Put an ice back around your neck for twenty minutes a day to tweak your metabolism. Also, just after eating high calorie foods, do 10 squats, and 10 wall push ups. It will decrease absorption of sugars.

A bit run down and stressed about big research stuff and a million small things that need to happen before I head to Wales on Sunday. But the Quantified Self meeting I hosted last night was awesome and I exchanged my busted-ass rainjacket for a swank new one for free. Would say I’m doing better but something in my jaw is really sore and worrying me.
Pretty alright day! Was hoping to run 4 miles but due to poor planning I had to cut it short for dim sum and friend date! Ate pretty crappily… veggies tomorrow.

Ouch! I had to take a 2 pronged approach to it. I got rid of the afternoon caffeine last month, so I’ll cheer you on all this month!
I think I was just so happy for March to be over that I didn’t think through my rules quite clearly. Only the second day and I can see alterations that need to be made.
Do what you need to do. We have fruit, remember. If you need to relax one of the rules, please do so.
