An improved day on the relationship — morning at the market, then E took a 3 hour nap (clearly, sick), then we took a nice long walk through the neighborhood. Ended up with a milkshake, which I really needed to pre-game for Erica’s deadly caloric party… I really try to avoid “all-you-can-eat” for a good reason (I have no bottom to my stomache, I could have eaten more of all of that…)

Aaaah, Sunday, last day of the month. I did try to call AT&T, but their customer support agents have the weekend off. Good for them. But don’t you hate it when you have all your ducks lined up and you’re all ready to go, and then it fizzles like that? Rats! Washing the car … upgrading the laptop … a nap sounded much more tempting, so I did that instead. Didn’t even go out to buy cat food, it’ll keep till the way home from work today. Closed out the month with neither bang nor whimper, just with a whisper.

Drove from Lake Louise up to Jasper (found out we left our pillows in the hotel in Calgary :‘( ) and busted butt to get me 30 minutes of internet access so I could try to do my homework. Unluckily I needed more than that and couldn’t get it. :( Saw a grizzly!

Flew out of Assiniboine back to Canmore in a helicopter — still raining intermittently, but we flew out of the rain into the sun, so we saw a rainbow below the copter :) We had Rocky Mountain Flatbread and dessert flatbread, then drove to Calgary to meet my parents. Stayed up late doing homework. :(

Had a pretty lazy day. Got up and did the grocery shopping. Wandered over to the Vitamin Shoppe to see if they had any single-serving packs of whey protein powder. (I’m currently experimenting to see if drinking a whey protein shake before or after weight training helps with muscle soreness. Results are promising, but I’m also learning that there’s a great deal of variation between different brands of whey powder both in how good they taste and in how scary the ingredients lists are. Artificial sweeteners, fake flavors, and weird ingredients abound. Fortunately, so far, the ones with the least objectionable ingredients lists also seem to be the best tasting.) Did a little more work on clearing out the garage, and did a load of laundry. (Consequence of my more fit lifestyle: it seems like I’m forever laundering sports bras.) Then I curled up with a cup of tea and a book. I need to make time to do that more often.

Calm day – my SO and my dad took the bigger kids to the beach, and I stayed home with the little ones. Didn’t get a lot done but hit all my rules. Nervous and excited about starting a new month with a LOT more rules! |
