I lost 4 life points because of the following things…
Anyone with some spare fruit at this point in the month?!

My weight is holding steady from last week but my body measurements have changed in positive directions.
First life point loss in a while. All because I didn’t read enough. :/

It’s nearly noon on Sunday and I’m accomplishing so much outside! Switching old heavy hoses for new skinny purple hoses; watering; planting hops, motherwort, valerian, clover and skullcap; staking delphiniums; harvesting kale, spinach, onions, garlic, mustard & peas for dinner. Yay for having some purpose and the energy to carry it out; that combo doesn’t happen often around here … :)

Nice!! |
It was a really good day! I attended a bee habitat workshop with Jesse. Then she fixed dinner for me & Chuck at her house. It makes me happy that we finally have “our” friends, instead of just Chuck’s friends or, worse, his ex’s friends, lolol … :)

It was a great day and dinner was good too. I am glad for friends too. Also glad my husband knows his way around the garden and can go out and snip this and that for a great salad. |

Ah, sounds splendid! |
Did a big bike ride and went to the gym, but had a bunch of drinks at a birthday party. It all pretty much evened out.
Looks like I might need some fruit sometime soon. At least the month is almost over!

Heeeeeeeeeey Quinnie & Mary Ann! Sorry to worry you both so. I didn’t mean to take so long or cut it so close before getting the team registered! We’re all set now, just in the nick (knick?) of time :-) |

Thanks guys! He called me last night not making any sense (he has dementia) reporting that he has “germs” and was kicked out of his care home (!) so I got the story of what really happened from a nurse. He has some gastro-intestinal thing and has been admitted for a couple of days. I hope it’s just a bad case of Don’t Eat That Itis. |

Typical Saturday – ran errands, had lunch at our favorite Mexican place, and generally relaxed. I also bought a cheap left-handed electric guitar at a local pawn shop so I can try my hand at Rocksmith, which my wife has been playing for a few weeks now.

Have you had a chance to try the game yet? I’ve considered picking up a copy as a supplement for my regular guitar practice. |

I haven’t tried it yet. I’ve watched my wife play it, and she says that you never seem to play the same song twice – the game always changes up how the songs are presented to you as you progress. I think that if you were already an accomplished guitarist this game wouldn’t be much use to you, but as someone who last took a guitar lesson over 30 years ago, I’m hoping I can find it kind of fun. |

Feeling pretty average. I brought a ton of personal work to work on while at work today (work work work) and I’m hoping I can get moving on some of that stuff. I realized yesterday that I currently have 3 sewing projects going on. That’s 2 too many for me, so I need to work on getting my ritual robes and dance coverup done because those are the simplest and then I can start working on my cabaret dance costume. I had to email my mom to ask about washing my cotton fabric that I got yesterday because I can’t remember if it needed to be washed first before cutting it up or not.

Strenuous day outdoors, performing at a sheep shearing festival. (I didn’t actually see any sheep.) Finished sore and windburned (and stretched before bed) and slept like a baby. Good times!
Out and about with guests but they slept in so we got some household stuff done in the a.m. Took them into town in the late afternoon and caught the end of the big political protest rallies—that was pretty interesting, seeing everyone in yellow shirts and carrying placards, etc— but we missed the tear gas and water cannons by several hours (planned avoidance + police roadblocks).
As these are Derek’s relatives, I’m doing a good job of taking my own time and letting them rehash 31 years of family gossip while I read, walk dogs, etc.
Low point: D wasn’t paying attention in a carpark, talking and laughing with the Aussies, backed out and hit a large concrete pillar. I could see it happening but couldn’t tell/yell fast enough and it took off the driver’s side mirror and did serious door damage as I watched. And set off a new round of jumpiness, ptsd-ish reactions for me. Damn and double-damn. The good news was no one was hurt. The bad news is now I’m freaked out in the car again. Oh well, a chance to practice what I learned before. Still, don’t like it one bit.

|
UKCynthiaR

Bridget, no, NOT the purple car! It was the seven-passenger Nissan, which we use for guests. My little Myvi WOULD take four adults but D prefers to drive the larger car. I guess I’m thankful it wasn’t my so-far-perfect little car. Small consolation. :-( Mary Ann, D had the good grace to say “why don’t you stay home and rest while I take them back to the airport” last night and that really helped. I think he finally got how the earlier thing had affected me. The h*ll of it was the bloody concrete pillar (this was in a basement car park) was BLUE—the same colour blue as the car which hit us in December. What are the odds of that?? I have no idea. But the colour had something to do with the reaction on Saturday; I felt it immediately. Weird. I really thought I was done with that. ‘Funny’ how it can be triggered again. YES, thanks, I have the resources bookmarked from the last incident. That was all great stuff from the folks here at HM. I went right back to the ‘replace the file folder in your brain’ stuff as soon as I could. Rachel, thanks…that is one of the same monkeys we went back to see yesterday. Two tiny babies now, bright orange, too. Precious. I just love these monkeys; we drag every guest off to meet them and then the funky Chinese seafood restaurant on stilts over the river nearby. It’s always a hit but I’m usually taking the photos. ;-) |

Have had a very nice weekend. Was productive in the DeCluttering, Exercise and Sleep categories.
Got some more fabric and notions at G Street, which now means I have 3 sewing projects going on. And I found the fabric I want to do another dance costume out of, but it is $40/yard! It’s just a dress, so hopefully it won’t be too many yards. Still—damn. And of course, I was seriously lusting over the hand beaded lace overlay fabric in the bridal section, but I knew better than to look at the price of that fabric. Went to a Beltane workshop at night and made a little house blessing satchet. With bells! I’m hoping I can bring one or maybe 2 of my projects to work today so I can lay out the fabric on the bigger tables and cut out my patterns.
Okay, April’s officially slaughtered thanks to a business trip/vacation where I chose to have FUN. Blew my rules, but had a great time!
