Walked 7 miles from the beach to home. Grand daughters came early for a sleep over. They are growing up before my eyes. Which leads me to ask myself, am I growing? Could I see each day open, startlingly fresh, aware of the presence of the unknown? What have I been looking at all along yet never noticed before? My quest for May.

Pushed through the day valiantly, and won the battle around 4:00 pm, which may seem late in the day, but who cares? It turned out to be a good day then just because it ended feeling so much better then.

Dad is much better today and should be going home this afternoon (doctor verdict: a BAD case of stomach flu.)

Meanwhile I pulled on a pair of pants that I love and that had been fitting too tight and they fit, WOO HOO!

Mom off to T for a few days, and we already miss her! Dad and I will slightly rearrange our schedules to make sure Dog is taken care of and doesn’t have to spend entire days in her crate. Makes me even more grateful for Mom’s gracious daily Dog care.

I set up a team for May, though the site won’t let me upload a photo right now. Ferocious Compassion’s mission and prerequisite are “be nice to yourself.”

Meanwhile, I kept my two rules that I fail at the most: write 2 pages every day and go to the gym 3 times a week. These things are good for me and I enjoy them, why do I evade/avoid them?

I added “be vegetarian on Full and New moons” which is a commitment I made over ten years ago and haven’t kept consistently. Mindfulness of what goes into and comes out of my mouth is much harder than it appears.

The trees are finally fully leafed out in the Puget Sound region, now all we need is some sun.

Happy May, peeps,

Saturday was a great day. We fixed Mexican for our Ladies Supper Club meet and it was wonderful. Dessert was flan and a scrumptious strawberry mousse pie. I definitely ate way too much but it was so good that I couldn’t help myself. There were nine of us and we had a great time. Lots of good food and lively conversation.

You sense a pattern here?
