I’ll be ending this month on a very high note. I hit quite the milestone this morning. Since starting Health Month I have lost 40 pounds. I am at my lowest weight since getting married almost 8 years ago. I am so incredibly proud of myself! And very thankful for all the support I receive from this great team. :)

I had a great morning – did meditation, then went to read/write in a quiet bookstore cafe. Meandered through a small local flea market just enjoying the compasses and plates and old screwdrivers and such. Spent the afternoon doing chores, which was less fun but necessary. Rising anxiety as the afternoon seemed to evaporate. Went to the gym even though I really didn’t want to, was glad I did (funny how I am always glad I did). April has felt like an arduous month. Looking forward to May.

Semi-productive day. I managed to write up my very first choreography (for a 2 minute song, heh) and so now I need to work on drilling the shit out of that so it might be ready for the June performance. Then I came home and worked on ripping out the seams I made hastily in this velvet fabric that I was going to use for ritual robes (until I found out that they had to be 100% cotton, argh) and that is now going to become my dance costume coverup. It’s slow going, but I managed to watch the last episode of the season 1 of The Tudors. malpais had a couple thoughts.
Hey Happy Habiteers, April has passed by kind of unconsciously, so for May I did a bit of thinking and planning about my habits. 1) Exercising, my Habit Course Habit Have been doing this ever since, more or less consistently, giving myself a lot of space for the interpretation of “yes, I did it!”. Although I think that it is crucial to be nice and gentle to myself I still want to re-establish my trigger-habit connection, hitting the trampoline as soon as I get out of bed, having a nice cup of coffee as my reward afterwards. 2) Doing at least one MIT Do you remember I was a bit under pressure at the beginning of the year because of my logbooks? Well I didn’t finish. As soon as I heard that the focus of this year’s audition was bonus flight programs, the pressure was gone. Since then my MIT has been any urgent topic that I had difficulties taking care of, or writing 750words, which is indeed a pleasure and I’d like my MIT to be more of a frog…. So in May I could go on with those logbooks, as end of year is coming closer ;-) there WILL be a final day for handing them in. I really hate to do this, but I may hate NOT doing it even more! 3) Giving up a bad habit Ok so now it’s time to confess a really ugly habit – I am a nail biter (oh, yes, there IS something I hate more than logbooks!). I’ve been wanting to stop for ever, so when I came across the Habit Course I thought this could be a good way to get rid of it. Then Leo told us not to start with a bad habit which apparently was absolutely right – and then I lost focus. But now in May I feel I wanna try. As I am preparing for my habit change I am paying close attention to the situations when I do it: I have to find a better occupation for my hands (just do something! is a way…) or sit on them while reading. This is going to be tough – various triggers throughout the day, possibly overcoming some deep and crazy reasons why I’ve been having this bad habit for such a long time, no direct reward because I have to wait until the end of the day to see if I was successful – so, your encouragement is highly appreciated! And I need to focus on the positive results: I would no longer feel embarrassed for my hands any more. I am looking forward to sharing my joy with you for every day that I didn’t touch my hands from now on! :-))) Good luck for your new and old habits

HONEST MONTH/CURRENT CHECK IT: So key learnings from Health Month: So in summary: For May: Personal Outcomes I will to achieve: More personal clarity and acceptance of my path this year, and future en-devours. Continue searching for the acceptance that life is a journey. (Read The power of now) strickvl needs fruit, barely.
I lost 1 life point because of the following things…
If anyone has any spare fruit leftover, could do with a few points healing (even though I’ll make it into the next month no problem)…

I did more than 120000 steps on Sunday. Napped a bit, battled in backyard with ivy and won a bit. Went to movie last night and made official commitments for May with Tom. iPad here I come! Will write new team goals today too! See you all next month!

Woah Momma! You, like Tom, I am HOPING mean 12,000 steps, as opposed to 120,000 steps, which would be INSANE. I don’t think you’ve joined the Team for May yet… don’t forget! :) |

Wishful thinking?!?!? Lost Internet this afternoon. Back on now. Will join in morning. Thanks….oh, btw. I did get over 7000 today. Pheww!! |
Had a bit of a rocky evening, but otherwise a fantastic day. I worked out in the morning, finally learning some routines on the balance ball, and in the afternoon I started writing a new novel!
My co-author has been working on her part nearly all month and I finally found the angle for starting my part. Things are working out quite differently than I’d imagined, but in a very good way. I drafted the first scene and made notes about some things I missed in the first draft, so later this week I’l go back to insert those few things and then move on to my next part. We’ve been planning this novel on and off for the last three years—I’m so glad to finally be writing it!

Great job EM! |
I’m not sure why HM hasn’t taken a life point off me for not running. Maybe they felt sorry for me and my sore foot (which is still slowly improving).
If I’m up this early I’d better have gone to bed before midnight!
