The bluetit in Mum’s nestbox has just shifted enough for me to see that one of her eggs has hatched! :-)))

Another quiet day :-) I began to tackle some of the admin MUTs. The local librarian pointed me at a lovely book of paintings of local scenes by different artists, which I took into hospital for Mum. An inspired choice! She can’t concentrate to read a book, but her aesthetic faculties are completely unimpaired. And playing ‘Where was this picture painted?’ is great mental exercise, too!

The book of paintings sounds like a perfect choice.

A pleasant day when I was at last able to relax and take things gently. I meditated, did some drawing, cleared some papers, went for a walk, visited Mum, worked on my morris dance costume, and went to the final dance practice in the evening. A good mix.

Flying back to the UK today. It’s just as well, since Mum is worse again, but I don’t want to go. Returning to the accustomed everyday pleasures of our life together here has been acutely poignant after the time I’ve spent away and all the emotional turmoil of the past few weeks.

So sorry that you can not have your own life right now—that is very hard. Sorry also to hear your Mum is having another spell of not doing well. You are made of some strong stuff there, Lorna! Hang in there—we are rooting for you!!

Tough times.
We celebrated Mother’s Day yesterday, and I thought of you, Lorna, and your loving devotion to your mother. It moved me.

Apart from that, an enjoyable day – walking, watching tennis, completing a super-cryptic crossword – with my honey.
