Wossname had a couple thoughts.

Thanks to everyone who gave me so much fruit some weeks ago. I’ve finally gotten over my horrible bout of flu, but am happy that I kept up with so many of my goals.

Wossname, in the Orange Bracket, played Sunday January, 8th for 93 points, following 87% of his 8 rules. He didn't lose any life points and therefore got 1 piece of fruit for the hard work. His public review of the day was…

Campell’s soup isn’t exactly the “cooking” I had in mind, but I beefed it up with bread from the breadmaker and extra ingredients. Suck that, zombie cold.

Ooh, I had the zombie cold in November. Any kitchen work beyond pouring orange juice and grabbing a banana counts as cooking in that condition!

Wossname needs fruit, barely.

I lost 2 life points because of the following things…
  • Didn't cook dinner
  • Didn't exercise

Would appreciate some fruit, as I’ve been knocked on my ass for the past few days due to the ZOMBIE FLU FROM HELL (or wherever zombies come from in your personal canon).

I was able to rouse myself today and do everything on my list but exercise, which makes me feel a little better about my progress this month.

In return, I offer this photo of one of my cat, Kip, who tries his best to comfort me in times like this: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2jc7zwh&s=5

Kip is darling, and such a help to you, I’m sure! Hopefully not as drooly as one of my critters – don’t think I’d appreciate her cuddling on top of my head.

Danke! If I had a “go to bed before 10pm” rule, I’d be hitting it tonight…

Lost a ton of life points due to being sick the past 3 days. Oh, well, Sunday starts a new week.

Wossname, in the Orange Bracket, played Tuesday January, 3rd for 93 points, following 85% of his 7 rules. He lost 1 life point for missing the following: floss at least 5 days a week. His public review of the day was…

Saw my obgyn/endo today for an Rx refill, which is always awkward in the waiting room as a transman (God bless the Fortress of Solitude enabled by the smartphone). The doctor postponed the dreaded annual all the way to April, which also coincides with my goal to run a 5k. If I can keep this fitness goal, it should help me feel a little less self-conscious come stirrups-time.

(Sorry if a bit TMI, but there’s gotta be other trans people here and if I can go to the doctor on a regular basis, so can you!)

Actually, I know several non-trans women who don’t go to their obgyn for checkups – due to fear or nervousness or whatever – so I totally applaud you for scheduling it. I’m not a big fan of the stirrups myself, but it’s one of those Dreaded Tasks that I enjoy crossing off my list each time.

And woo on the 5K! Are you using a training plan? Are you just training to finish?

I’m training to finish this year. Next year, who knows? Being on testosterone puts me at greater risk for heart issues (same as any bio man), so I figure I need to develop good cardio habits from here on out.

Awesome! Mad support. I so admire your 5K goal — how cool!

I did couch to 5K last year. Went from not being able to run a block to running 3 miles a day. You can do it! What helped me was running outside, where there are lots of things to look at (I’m a visual person), and listening to terrible pop music on my phone.

A friend of mine who has been completely sedentary for over a decade did C25K a couple months, and he is still running. They’re not jaunts of triumph, but he still does them. So, that program’s got legs.

Oy, the dreaded annual exam coming up about a month earlier than I anticipated. The office starts “Couch to 5k” tomorrow, and I’ll have 2 weeks under my belt before my appointment. Curious if there will be any noticeable changes by then. Probably not much, but should at least make the doctor a little pleased with me.
