CAUTION: negative post ahead… do not read if you don’t want negativity to rub off on you.

No fun to get an extra Life Point from the Wild Wheel, which I just did and for a moment was excited about, until I realized that if I’ve got 10 which I do thanks to my generous teammates, the point goes NOWHERE.

a spark of fun is gone with that stupid fuckin’ new point thing

:) MaryAnn

Yup, I hear ya.

But, ummm…. Your profile actually shows 11 points!!
So, YAY!
(I think.)

:) elkit

Yes, I also see 11 points on your profile. Fun is back! :-)
(I think it’s just that the giving of extra fruit goes away when you’ve reached 10 points. And if you have 9 points and I give you 8 fruits, I can still top you up over 10 points, I think.)

:) MaryAnn

Yes, Elkit! I’ve done that a few times. It’s fun!

:) Brooke

Are you saying my negativity was a waste of my energy?
And isn’t it always?

Thank you Elke and Mary Ann for bursting a bubble that is better burst.

:) elkit

I will think of it as a burst of energy, and leave it up to you to assign positive or negative values to it.

:) Brooke

Well said, Elke.
Thanks for another reminder.

:) UKCynthiaR

Negativity is always a waste of energy, they say. Unless it teaches you something positive along the way. You could always GIVE THE LIFE POINT to someone. That would make it positive for two people, wouldn’t it? That would be like receiving it twice and balancing the Universe all over again. Or something like that.

:) elkit

I don’t know. Sometimes I like a bit of negativity in my day. A couple of choice swear words, a shaking of my fists toward the sky – makes me feel good, you know?

:) UKCynthiaR

Ah, Elkit, interesting way to see it…so a little negativity makes you feel good in the end? Hmmm, I like that. Perhaps I’ll do more fist-waving toward the sky…!

:) elkit

Sometimes when I get cranky, I like holding on to that feeling. Until I start laughing at myself and letting it go. It’s good fun, give it a try! Just don’t forget to snap out of it eventually.

:) MaryAnn

What everybody said. :-)

Didn’t somebody post a link a while back, to do with swearing being good for you?
Anybody have that link?

I really don’t want to erase any of my recent indulgences.
In fact, I celebrate them.

I have no excuses,
just explanation:
me, having not done the things I said I’d do.

If you have any fruit you wish to pass my way,
I would very much appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!

Ha ha ha!
We’ve been walking every night for a few months and the later the better so we can walk in the middle of the road. I bundle up fiercely, only my eyes are exposed. I do NOT like to be cold. Wrap my head with two scarves, snow pants over pants over long johns, long underwear under long-sleeved shirt under fleece jacket under down jacket. Fleece socks over cotton socks in sneakers and a fleece hat on the noggin, and I’m ready to go. Not brave or tough, me. So nice the quiet and conversation with Zephyr.

And last night, at 11:57, we actually saw a FIRE BALL!!!!!!!!
And I recorded it on an online site.
It was aMAAAAAAZING. A white streak punctuated by a blue flash. Whoooooah!

:) Elfu

Elfu, it’s too bad, you’re in such a different time zone for this particular North American Frogathon!

But…. there are some people who live in Europe, who regularly start them, and you could “follow” them and join in on theirs. Then you’d have company!

Always happy to find a friend awake when I am, Mary Ann! I was sorry I didn’t get on board earlier, thought I’d missed it all. Smitha, I am just outside Kuala Lumpur. You?

12:11PM GMT +8

1. Wrote to HM about getting another incorrect notice, got nice reply back from Billy ( glitch in new bugfixes); did first Viparita Karani (legs up the wall pose), wrote course exercise about it; set up new yoga area to save fiddling, did pre-reading for Yoga Nidra.
2. First Yoga Nidra, write about it, small stone, move sprinklers, lunch.

:) Smitha

Hi Cynthia, i’m in Tamil Nadu, India. Wow, you’re one person on HM whose day starts earlier than mine :-)

Great you’ve heard from Billy.. I too wrote to Derek, twice, about those incorrect notices; no reply so far.

How nice, Smitha! Our closest restaurant is Indian, and the owners say they are Tamil. They make “roti canai” (Malay=Chennai in India, same pronunciation as c=‘ch’) and it is the best thing in the world—ever. Well, they make other breads but the roti canai is divine. Nice to share this time and space with you!

13:30 hrs GMT +8

1. 22min Yoga Nidra, wrote pre-class responses, lunch, sprinklers.
2. Small stones (must!), Lumosity brain training, review resource list from writing agency, (try to) fix connection on washing machine

Lol, will get you more info. Flat bread, like paratha but different flour. Not dosa either. Flaky, round, stretchy, cooked on hot grill. Divine…!

16:45 GMT+8

1. Got self ready and out the door, remembered to turn off sprinklers. Phew. Fed dogs. Dogs happy.
2. List of six errands at garish Las Vegas-style 4m sq ft mall…but lots of walking, yay, then hubby coming to meet for dinner. FitBit now: 3,423

:) Smitha

Ah, that reminds me of what’s called “Ceylon parotta” in Chennai!! It’s made of maida and is very stretchy – check whether it’s like the image below:
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_zFHwVDJu4cE/TR1yWO2tDlI/AAAAAAAABbc/RUrBe5K7Kh8/s1600/madu7.jpg

Next: Break, select photos, pack another carton of books.

:) UKCynthiaR

Oh, yes, that’s it! PAROTTTA=Paratha. That makes sense. “Roti” means bread in Malay so this is the ‘Bread of Chennai (Canai)’. It is very Mamak (Indian) here and very popular to eat with a dahl, etc. this is an authentic Malay recipe (though of course it isn’t Malay in origin) but I haven’t tried it. The local guy does it soooo well! Malaysia is about 16%, most Tamil but I know Punjabis too. What fun!

18.15hrs GMT+8

1. Walked 4,000 steps+ but spent most time in Marks&Spencer trying (buying) clothes. Then GNC, unsuccessful attempt to buy yoga blocks, now at a detox smoothie bar.
2. Ace Hdwe, Bookstore for the illusive bird book and new journal, new keyboard. Walk! Meet D for dinner.

:) Smitha

Now i wonder why we call it “Ceylon” parotta – Ceylon is Sri Lanka!
And thanks for the recipe, Cynthia! Wow, i didn’t know you had to soak it overnight in oil :) But.. this recipe says the rotis are square??
And are you looking for a bird book?

Smith, thanks again for the company! Yes, looking for a book on the birds of Malaysia. Have been to three or four bookstores now and get lots of blank looks. “Ceylon parotta” must be the old name. And, yes, it’s the oil that makes it so fabulous and stretchy, of course. And delicious!

22:00hrs GMT+8

1. Thai dinner with hubby, bought travel guide on Singapore for trip next week, Starbucks and chat afterwards.
2. Doggie bedtime, my bedtime! Nite-nite, all, and good morning all you good people on the other side. :-)

Brooke has a question.

Heart.full.16 10 · 1,543 pts

Do you remember feeling lighter?

…more carefree,

less locked-in,

less heavy,

more easy,

not so concerned with what happens if you slip and fall,

if you forget a birthday,

if you eat too much crap,

if you fart around non-fart-around company,

if you have a messy house,

not so serious about your self,

not worried about the bills,

the future,

your skin,

your ass,

those things under your eyes,

re-fuckin-tirement

?

I’m just wondering.
