Today I’m starting the four hour body slow carb diet. The weekend was one giant carb binge and I’m totally feeling it. Oof. Also, this morning’s protein-heavy breakfast was really a lot. The adjustment will be tough but I’m excited to shed the pounds I’ve packed on in the past couple months.

I also went back to Cappy’s for the first time in a long time on Saturday. I’ve missed this sore feeling. It’s a good reminder that I need to take care of myself.

last night i got thrown into a production management position at NFTN and ended up running the show with ZERO experience or idea what i was doing. it was exhausting, frustrating, stressful and super duper rewarding. i really really need that nap.

I think I’m going to start doing a 4 hour body slow carb style thing. I really like the idea of having a cheat day to curtail cravings and to keep from killing myself. I also feel like the rules are really reasonable and basically have roots in common sense, which I could really use.

Portion control, more legumes and less white carbs. I think that’s completely doable.

What do you think about the exercise guidelines? It just seems like it could never be enough to actually make a difference. The diet part seems practical enough (except for no fruit). I did the South Beach Diet years ago and I think it worked for me because of portion control and cutting the carbs, but not replacing them, leading to even fewer calories consumed.

I did slow carb 2 months and it was great. I already eat pretty similarly so it wasn’t a hard transition. But its is pretty easy with the cheat day and all, and I bet you’ll have some great results. Go for it.

April, I’m not planning to do the exercise components. I’m mostly focusing on the low carb, high protein and eating breakfast aspects. Until we start, however, we are eating all the rice and pasta and quinoa in the house! I love this week.

No quinoa?!?! I would perish. I can’t believe that isn’t considered a good carb, considering it’s a complete protein.

Yeah but I get one cheat day a week to eat all the quinoa, pasta, pizza, ice cream and beer I can handle! That seems completely reasonable to me.
